DALLAS – Dallas attorney Mark Werbner, co-founder of the trial law firm Sayles Werbner, recently was honored along with an elite group of Dallas/Fort Worth-area attorneys recognized by the Dallas Bar Association as “Texas Trial Legends” based on their illustrious legal careers.

Werbner was one of eight trial lawyers recognized by the Dallas Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section at a luncheon held on Feb. 2, 2010, at the Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas.

corruption trial.

Attorneys for former Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill and Ray Jackson, who represented Hill during last year's City Hall corruption trial, argued in court Thursday afternoon that any violations of U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn's gag order issued shortly before Hill's trial began were not willful, and therefore not criminal. While Hill did not take the stand, Jackson spent the significant part of the six-and-a-half hour bench trial walking Lynn through the events following a June 18 interview granted to WFAA-Channel 8's Gary Reaves.

MARSHALL, Texas – Attorneys from the Dallas law firm of Sayles Werbner and Philadelphia’s Woodcock Washburn represented Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc., a unit of Johnson & Johnson, in a patent infringement lawsuit that concluded with a $1.67 billion verdict, reported by Bloomberg news service as the largest patent infringement verdict in U.S. history.

Sayles Werbner Secures Multimillion-Dollar Verdict on Behalf of Law Firm
 DALLAS – Attorneys from the Dallas trial law firm of Sayles Werbner successfully represented a law firm in a breach of contract lawsuit based on arguments that the now-closed firm is still entitled to revenue from a former client’s patent licensing program.

Sayles Werbner co-founder Mark S. Werbner represented the Jenkens & Gilchrist firm in claims against Austin, Texas-based software maker Forgent Networks Inc. The verdict delivered on July 23, 2009, in the 134th Civil District Court in Dallas County awarded $3.14 million in actual damages and up to $1.15 million in attorneys’ fees.
