We are trial lawyers in the truest sense, as comfortable before a judge and jury as we are at a negotiating table. We have earned the trust of Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and individual clients. Our attorneys and staff provide value to our clients with innovative solutions, creative strategies and reliable advice. Above all, we are committed to bringing the highest standards of ethics and a passion for justice to every client and every case. We command attention in the courtroom and enjoy the highest respect of our peers.
Our firm was built on the experience and leadership of senior shareholders Dick Sayles and Mark Werbner – with over 50 years in the courtroom and more than 200 trials.
Sayles and Werbner have practiced law together for over three decades and were both recently selected by Best Lawyers as 2018 Lawyer of the Year, Sayles for his practice involving bet-the-company litigation and Werbner for white-collar criminal defense. Beginning their practice in the late ’70s with the prestigious Dallas law firm Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, they decided to form what became Sayles Werbner in 1994 – a firm with a vision to handle the type of large, complex cases traditionally handled by the megafirms but in a smaller-firm environment.
Today, Sayles Werbner is led by a team of experienced trial lawyers with rich knowledge and distinguished track records in and out of the courtroom. We successfully combined a traditional defense-oriented business practice with the aggressive representation of select plaintiffs, and have a breadth of experience rarely found in other firms. By tenaciously working on both sides of the docket, we provide clients with a unique perspective that allows us to see both sides of any dispute and to craft a strategy for success.
Our outstanding record of successful legal representation isn’t the only thing that sets us apart from the competition. Unlike most firms, we have the ability to customize our fee arrangements to meet each client’s specific needs, enabling us to provide superior value. While we offer all clients a traditional hourly model, many clients prefer alternative arrangements that reduce upfront costs and base our fee on results. These fee structures may include reduced hourly charges or flat fees coupled with a success bonus, or a full contingent fee arrangement where we receive no payment unless there is a recovery. Fee arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis.
