Dick Sayles and Mark Werbner have practiced law together for over two decades. Both began their practice in the late '70s with Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, a large and prestigious Dallas law firm, where they became involved in substantial business litigation. Both had excellent mentors and became highly regarded trial lawyers known for their skill, tenacity and integrity.

In 1994, a decision was made to form what became Sayles Werbner – a firm that would continue to practice at the same high level at which Dick and Mark had practiced for over 15 years. The vision for the Firm was to handle the type of large, complex cases traditionally handled by the mega-firms, but in a smaller firm environment. By keeping the size of the Firm at a manageable level, Sayles and Werbner believed that each client would receive the level of individualized attention they deserved.

Another core belief of Sayles Werbner was that combining a traditional, defense-oriented business practice with the representation of select plaintiffs with meritorious personal injury cases would provide the Firm with a breadth of experience rarely found in more traditional firms. By working on both sides of the docket, the Firm's founders believed that they could provide their clients with a unique perspective that allowed them to see both sides of any dispute.

Sayles Werbner's success has allowed it to attract superior legal talent from large and prestigious firms.  These attorneys have benefited from the Firm's size by receiving the type of practical, hands-on experience not typically available to lawyers practicing in a larger, more traditional firm. Such experience allows all of the Firm's lawyers to fulfill their clients' day-to-day needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
