Sayles Werbner Founders Named Among Nation's Best Lawyers for 2016
DALLAS – Trial lawyers Richard A. “Dick” Sayles and Mark. S. Werbner of Dallas’ Sayles Werbner are being recognized as two of the country’s top courtroom attorneys in the 2016 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Once a year, the publishers of Best Lawyers solicit independent nominations as the first step in determining the nation’s top lawyers. Then, the nominees are reviewed by their peers in the same practice areas. The peer recommendations are then reviewed by the editors at Best Lawyers before the final selections are made.
Sayles was selected for Best Lawyers for the 10th consecutive year, as well as being chosen Dallas/Fort Worth Lawyer of the Year for commercial litigation. His recognition for 2016 also is based on his work for clients in bet-the-company litigation in both state and federal courts. Sayles is one of the rare attorneys to be Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law.
Werbner earned his 15th straight Best Lawyers appearance in recognition of his work for clients in bet-the-company litigation, commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense. Like Sayles, he also is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, in addition to being Board Certified in Criminal Law.
The attorneys at Sayles Werbner are known for winning substantial verdicts and take-nothing defense wins for clients in jurisdictions throughout Texas and across the nation. In 2015 alone, the firm has won a U.S. Supreme Court ruling for client Commil USA LLC against software giant Cisco Systems Inc. in one of the most significant patent infringement claims to reach the nation’s highest court in years.
In August, Werbner and a team of attorneys representing victims of overseas terrorism attacks reached a confidential settlement with Jordan-based Arab Bank in the first lawsuit in U.S history where a foreign bank was held liable for providing material financial support to terrorists.
Sayles Werbner has an international reputation as a “go to” trial law firm in multifaceted business litigation, intellectual property, patent litigation, life-altering personal injury cases, product safety lawsuits and other areas of the law.
