| Richard Sayles Featured in Business Torts Institute Dallas |

Sayles Werbner co-founder and noted trial lawyer Richard "Dick" Sayles is serving as a featured panelist during a continuing legal education program in Dallas that examines all aspects of lawsuits against businesses. During the annual “Business Tort Institute,” Mr. Sayles will discuss the important case screening and pre-litigation filings that companies and their attorneys should consider in business tort cases. The event, which takes place Oct. 29-30 at the Dallas Bar Association’s Belo Mansion headquarters in downtown Dallas, is co-sponsored by the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas and TexasBarCLE. Mr. Sayles is an accomplished litigation veteran, having tried more than 100 cases to verdict during his legal career of more than 30 years, including handling intellectual property cases and complex commercial disputes for leading technology companies and other businesses. In 2009, Mr. Sayles helped a division of Johnson & Johnson win a verdict of $1.67 billion in a patent infringement case in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. His win in that case is recognized as the largest intellectual property verdict in U.S. history. Mr. Sayles’ courtroom work includes diverse experience in both state and federal courts, including cases involving intellectual property disputes, patent law, commercial litigation, representation of corporate directors and officers, securities claims and product liability allegations, among many others. A sought-after lecturer at local and national continuing legal education programs, Mr. Sayles is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
